The best raids from VIVO Pro Kabaddi History

The sound of ‘kabaddi, kabaddi’ takes over their breaths, but the raiders at VIVO Pro Kabaddi know their job and know it well – to bring home the points. They encroach enemy lines and battle wits to deliver some of the most breathtaking moments in Pro Kabaddi history. When it comes to raids, names like Pardeep Narwal, Rahul Chaudhari, Ajay Thakur, Anup Kumar and the likes come to mind. While some of these names do feature in this list, there are some names which have stood up to the challenge and brought their back into the game with a blitzing super raid.

Let’s look at some of the best raids from VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season V, for the best preparation for a new season is by remembering the action that the past brought us!

1. Pardeep Narwal’s historic 8-point raid!

There comes a moment in time that an immortal thing happens. Pardeep Narwal’s Super Raid against Haryana Steelers is one such moment. Patna’s number 9 was in the mood for some history that night as he raided the Steelers. Finding himself surrounded by the Haryanvi boys, Narwal faked a dubki as he touched two players, moved away getting two more in his wake as he pulled off a stunning dubki and spun away on the mat and got his palm beyond the midline. He got two bonus points for wiping clean the Steelers active players, making it a whopping 8 points in a solitary raid – the most by any player. He didn’t stop there. Narwal went on to score 34 points in that match – the most by a player in a single match in Pro Kabaddi history! Watch it here.

2. Ajay Thakur shows why he is one of the best

When your team is facing a deficit of a point with about 30 seconds left on the clock, there are fewer names than Ajay Thakur you can trust. Tamil Thalaivas did exactly that. They looked at their captain to deliver when they needed it the most. The Yoddhas at 31 points, Thalaivas at 30. Thakur went in with resolve in his step. Three Yoddhas defenders caught hold of him, trying to push him out of the mat on their left. But Thakur had other plans. With only a foot inside regulation area, he leapt with all he had and touched the midline. Tamil Thalaivas held on for the remaining 25 seconds and snatched the game from the jaws of defeat! 3. Maninder Singh gives Bengal Warriors lead in the dying moments

With just a point in the lead, the Bengal Warriors needed something to bring relief to their fans. Bengaluru Bulls looked to be getting back in to the game and possibly pulling off a glorious comeback. As fate would have it, Maninder Singh raided the Bulls and the Bulls were quick to get onto the case. It proved to be too quick as Maninder Singh spun away from the three defenders holding him and his hand just about made it past the midline. 4. Sunil Jaipal leaves the Telugu Titans baffled

Sunil Jaipal has shown glimpses of excellence, but he has never been able to consistently deliver on the promise of his talents. Though, he has never missed an opportunity to shine when his team needed light the most. Against the Telugu Titans, Jaipal, in the Bengal Warriors blue, raided holding just a one-point lead. In a swift motion, Jaipal managed to touch and swing away from three defenders. Rahul Chaudhari and Sukesh Hegde, two of the players Jaipal got out; thus, crumbling the Titans’ attack. 5. Kashiling Adake brings U Mumba back in the game!

When your team is behind and time is running out, you need a bit of magic and determination. Kashiling Adake had brought both in his bag when he raided the Haryana Steelers and their 4-point lead over U Mumba. After missing contact with his kick, he went back deep into the Steelers half where the corner defender latched onto his ankle. Kashi, as he is fondly known, jerked away from the ankle hold and dodged the grip of two other defenders before touching the midline. A Super Raid with a super timing! Watch it here.
