RagaJazz is unique in its authentic and innovative approach to combining the depth and

essence of jazz and Indian classical music.

Their visit to Goa brings an unforgettable musical experience which is surely rare and unique.

Initiated by the Danish Grammy-awarded saxophone-player and composer Lars Møller,

RagaJazz unites internationally acclaimed musicians from the traditions of Indian classical music and Scandinavian jazz. 

They combine the colorful, melodic ragas and intense rhythms of India with the architectural beauty of Scandinavian music.

Together the musicians have created a Unique, Dramatic, Expressive and Contemplative sound. As individuals and as a band, 

They have performed all over the world - including the official Royal Danish State-visit to India in Delhi in 2023.

The band members have played all over the world with musicians like Ry Cooder, Zakir Hussain,

L. Shankar, Egberto Gismonti, Eliane Elias, Mike Stern and NHØP. Together they have performed more than 80 concerts 

in India and Europe - including festivals and projects with leading European orchestras.

Artist Profile

Kala Ramnath's violin playing is emotional and virtuoso - personal and unique. She is considered one of the top violin players in the world. In 2017 she received the prestigious “Sangeet Natak Academy Award” from the Indian President.

Lars Møller is a leading Scandinavian saxophone player and composer - In 2016 he formed RagaJazz. Deeply rooted in the jazz tradition he also has a profound knowledge of Indian music. He has performed worldwide as a bandleader and his numerous awards includes a Grammy (DK)

Thor Madsen’s guitar playing is influenced by a broad range of musical genres. Being a highly popular performer in both Europe and USA, he has toured extensively with bands from both continents.

Abhijit Banerjee is considered among the top tablas players from India. He is known for his sensitivity, skills and profound musicality. His unique style and creative approach has earned

him accolades and awards across the world.

Jonas Johansen is truly an orchestral drummer. With his outstanding curiosity and global mindset,

he always delivers the extra touch that lifts the music. Jonas has developed his sound through 35 years of top level performances - including more than 180 albums.
