The Rainbow Lit Fest – Queer & Inclusive, is South Asia and South East Asia’s largest queer & inclusive literary festival. With over 60 speakers and performers from across India, the award-winning Festival has a line-up of thought leaders and influencers. This year it will also have The Rainbow Awards for Literature & Journalism.
The first reveal of speakers include the gay lawyer, Saurabh Kirpal; international award-winning film director and writer, Alankrita Shrivastava; writer and founder of Agents of Ishq, Paromita Vohra; the legendary author and poet, Hoshang Merchant, trans-activist, doctor and educationist Dr Aqsa Shaikh, critically acclaimed poet, Akhil Katyal, editor of Gaysi Family, Sakshi Juneja, and London-based storyteller and intimacy columnist, Seema Anand.
The festival will also have a number of young voices and influencers such as the Rhode scholar and writer, Anish Gawande; lawyer, Rohin Bhatt; the founder of Official Humans of Queer, Yash Sharma; filmmaker, Priyakanta Laishram, and activist, Zayan.
Over two days the Festival will witness the following forms of entertainment:
Music: John Oinam & Band (Pop, Funk, Bollywood and R&B), Geetanjali & Katyayini (Folk)
Drag: Avatari Devi, Lush Monsoon
Dance: Kalakrita Arts (Bharat Natyam)
Films: Beach; Gair; My Mother’s Girlfriend; Muhafiz; Oranges in the Winter Sun
Drama: Tamasha Theatre’s Be-loved
