bFLAT is delighted to host French jazz vocalist, Raphaelle Brochet once more. Collaborating with her this time is bassist Philippe Aerts. When two accomplished artists cross paths along the road of life, nothing short of true art is destined to emerge. So it is with Raphaelle Brochet and Philippe Aerts.

They blur the lines when it comes to conventional use of their respective instruments. Their music focuses on creating a soundscape of experiences, rather than just a song. It is the inter-flow of two lifetime’s music paths: Raphaelle's entire childhood was steeped in Jazz music and her dedication to World music in general and later, to Carnatic music in particular (blessed as the sixth generation of the direct lineage of South Indian composer Muthuswami Deekshitar), has formed her into a unique and knowledgeable singer with jaw-dropping vocal skills.

Philippe's tremendous experience of playing, recording and travelling with a number of great jazz musicians from all over the world since the age of 16 has empowered and enriched his music.

Together, they convey their feelings about the sacredness of music and move flawlessly from one genre to another like water flowing through cracks, creating stories as they move through a world of sound.
