Sahaj Shakti (Innate Power), the second online concert to be organized by the Dara Shikoh Centre for the Arts on 17th October, will host two living legends— Kanai Das Baul and Debdas Baul, who have been the closest of companions since years. We feel humbled to have both of them together, to share with us the melodious fruits of their sadhana of worshipping Shakti or the ‘Feminine Force’. 

At the onset of the season of Durga Puja or Navratri, this upcoming online concert will present question-answer songs by the masterful duo of Kanai and Debdas. This dialogical performance will be followed up by some Agomani songs of welcoming the goddess, and a few dedicated to the innate female energy or Shakti, be it in the form of loving Radha, or the wrathful Kali or in the serpent power of Kundalini. The senior cultic practitioners and performers, Kanai and Debdas, will be accompanied by Lakshman Das Baul, Gautam Das Baul, and Uttam Das Baul on khamak, kartal and dotara, respectively, who will also grace us with a song each, on Sahaj-Shakti or the spontaneous, innate feminine force.
