The Artist

Surendran is a very talented artist and sculptor from South India who has gained international recognition for his work. His training under the artist Mani Nagappa has helped him develop a unique style that blends traditional Indian art forms with contemporary influences. One of his passions is promoting art and encouraging young artists to pursue their creative dreams. He has organized numerous international exhibitions and conducted workshops for students from all backgrounds, as well as showcasing concerts and dance shows. Moving back to India about a decade ago, he now manages the Suvasa Creative Art Foundation which is an initiative to promote art in the backward communities of Dakshin Karnataka. His notable works for prestigious events and spaces such as The Dubai Shopping Festival, UAE National day parade exhibits, the Albawadi Polo and Equestrian Club and the Kolathupuzha Indo-Swiss Project demonstrate his versatility and ability to work on varied scales of projects. His participation in the Sharjah International Art Biennial 6 is also a testament to his talent and recognition in the art world.

#01 Introduction to Sculpting & Clay Modelling The student will be taught basics of clay modelling abstract human figures in various poses of yoga that resonate with the theme . YUJ . (Sanskrit for Yoga) which is all about integrating and uniting the mind, body, and soul. Learning to sculpt with clay can be a relaxing and meditative activity that can help reduce stress and bring a sense of inner peace. Working with your hands and creating something from Mother Earth can also be a grounding experience. The following processes to begin Sculpting will be taught.
