A week is what you need to experience the views that change from dawn to dusk, twilight to starlight.
Experience the spiritual connection with the mountains.
The many moves and moods of Ramganga River.
Village children whizzing past.
The cool mountain breeze in your hair.
Wake-up call by the dreamy sound of the barbet.
The old trail that disappears into the jungle.
Chai and hot food in warm tenst and kitchen.
Catching up with mast pahadis in cascading green field.
The star-studded sky.
The moon, the madness and the magic.
Unheard of and far away from the regular vacationing, nestled in the Upper Himalayas is the Ramganga River in the Naachni Region of Uttarakhand.
Over the years, the unmolested beauty of Uttarakhand still stands true with places like these.
The camp is located on a riverside beach in the Naachni Region along the flowing blue waters of Ramganga River.
Learn to Kayak and race over the blue waters.
Beach out, sit on a rock in the river, sleep under the sky, stare at the stars, collect stones, make friends with a villager, have a cup of chai on the riverside. As the days unfold, we'll take walks to the village and spend a lazy days drifting away with the beauty around.
For the adventurous lot of you, there is kayaking, slithering, secret lakes in forests, beach volleyball and mountain biking.
Day 1, 29th Nov : Dilli chaat and all that!
Reach Delhi and spend some time eating Dilli chaat and watching the city frenzy. We will take the Sampark Express towards Kathgodam from NDLS at 4 pm. Reach Kathgodam and transfer by jeeps to our campsite that's an hour away.
Day 2, 30th Nov : Towards the Greens and Blues!
An early departure towards Naachni Camp; the campsite that'll be our home for the coming days. Ramganga Beach Campsite, Naachni, Uttarakhand. Lunch enroute at Dhaulchina. Reach Ramganga early evening to be greeted by lush greens and pristine blues. Settle down in neat alpine tents by the river & beach. Spend the rest of the evening getting introduced to your Kayaks, swimming & walking through the Hill Farms of Rigonia Village. Camp overnight, under the stars, next to the river.
Day 3, 1st Dec : Choose your love, today!
Learn to guide Kayaks in the river or catch fish in the river, local style with tackle and fishing nets. If not, spend the day body surfing the river camp; slithering from the bridge into the river. You could opt for team activities on the beach camp; even cook your self caught fish at the campfire. Exciting, no?
Day 4, 2nd Dec : Secret exploration in the forest!
Hike up to a small stream in the mountains and attempt at bird watching. Keep fishing as you move up to a secret pool into the forest. Cook your meal on an open fire in the forest, Dedicate the day to swimming, diving from a rock ledge & sunbathing. Return by early evening, for a match of volleyball in the sand, a campfire for the warmth and some delicious dinner.
Day 5, 3rd Dec : The Last Dip into the Blue!
Devour in scrumptious breakfast and take your last dip into the blue waters of Ramganga. Drive back to Kathgodam railway station to board train to Dilli.
Day 6, 4th Dec : Fir le aaya Dil Dilli!
Arrive in Dilli at 5 am. Bid Goodbye. Catch a connecting train/flight for Mumbai.
