About Sondai

Sondai is not such a famous fort near Karjat Chowk Phata. Sondai Fort Trek is nine kilometers from Karjat railway station. It offers a beautiful view of Morbe Dam, Prabalgad, Irshalgad, Rajmachi, Songiri forts, Karnala Fort, and Matheran mountain range. Sondai Fort Karjat was used as a watchtower to protect the trade routes. Sondewadi and Wavarle are the base villages of Sondai fort. Sondewadi village is situated at 1/4th height of this Fort. Used as a watchtower once, the Sondai Fort offers a beautiful view of Morbe Dam, Prabalgad, Irshalgad, Rajmachi, Songiri forts, Karnala Fort, and Matheran mountain range. 

Trek Itinerary  

05:10 am - Meet at SGNP main gate, Borivali.

05:15 am - Leave for trek.

05:35 am - Pick up at WEH metro station bus stop, Andheri.

05:50 am - Pick up at Kalanagar bus stop (on the highway), Bandra.

06:10 am - Pick up at Sion station circle.

06:25 am - Pick up at Diamond Garden, Chembur.

06:45 am - Pick up at Vashi below the main bridge near Vashi Plaza.

07:15 am - Pick up at McDonalds, Kalamboli.

08:30 am - Reach at base village and have a breakfast.

09:00 am - Start ascending.

12:00 pm - React at top and explore.

12:30 pm - Start descending to Machi.

01:30 pm - Reach at machi and have a lunch.

02:30 pm – Reach the Base and have lunch

03:30 pm – Start the return Journey.

07:00 pm - Approx. arrival at Mumbai.

Please note

Please carry packed lunch for the trek

Please wear trekking shoes for this trek with a good grip.

Those who are coming by their own vehicle, please follow all covid-19 safety guideline and reach at base village on time.

Due to above issue, if you come late or unable to come, will not provide any refund

Things to carry

Identity Proof

2/3 liters water (Very Important)

Good trekking shoes (Very Important)

Extra pair of Floaters/Sandals.

Some Dry Fruits / Dry Snacks / Energy Bars

Some ready to eat food (Like plum cakes, biscuits, etc.)

A haversack to put all your belongings in. Keep your hands free while trekking

Double pack your valuable / phones in plastic bags

Rain are expected, so pack your bags accordingly to save them from getting wet

Trek India Event Rules

The Trek Leader Decision will be final, members should abide by it.

Any addiction is strictly prohibited, e.g. drinking, smoking, chewing tobacco anyone caught doing it will have to exit the trek without a refund and travel back on own expense.

Kindly carry one Identity proof, at least for the trek with your address.

People caught smoking or drinking alcohol will be asked to exit the event on an immediate basis

If you are late for the bus pickup and are not reachable on the phone during your bus pickup, the trek leader will leave without you, and we will provide no refund.

Please check things to carry and wear trekking shoes on our treks.

We should strictly follow the code of conduct to avoid troubling our fellow trekkers or other people from our group or outside
