ABOUT MEERA DABIR

Meera is an artist/designer and proprietor of MforMottle, a bespoke design service that specializes in custom created wall art and decorative paint effects for commercial as well as residential interiors. They have been operational since 1998 and past clients have included the likes of Roche Bobois, Manish Malhotra Boutique & Amir Khan among others. Meera uses stencils extensively in her work because she finds them a quick, easy and extremely effective way to add interest or drama to a space.

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT

The workshop will start with an introduction to stencils and the benefits and various uses of the craft. Followed by a demonstration on how to design or adapt an image into a successful stencil. Following that we get into the practical part of the workshop. Participants are given images of stencils to choose from. Those that feel confident can draw their own if they wish. After tracing the image, they must cut it into the stencil sheets provided. This activity takes about an hour or so. After all stencils are cut, we move into applying them. Meera will do a quick demo to show them the basics of application after which the students can attempt it on their own. There will be additional stencils provided in case someone is not happy with their particular stencil. First the participants will practice applying the stencils on paper before moving to their final projects on the fabric bags provided.
