In the yesteryears, in an attempt to resist patriarchy, women told and retold stories of strength and wit during their cherished moments of bonding — whether it was while braiding hair or cooking. These tales brimmed with spirited females who outshone the odds.

Join us for a lively performance as storyteller Ulka Mayur breathes life into these folktales where witty women outsmart cunning crooks, hard-to-catch thieves, lousy in-laws and daunting demons. The performance would surely be a treat for all story lovers- kids and adults alike.

The performance is conceptualised by Ulka, who is a writer, director, performer and a trained Kathak dancer. She has a PhD in literature and one of her research areas is folklore. She curates lesser-known folktales into performances and stories.
