Storytelling - Musical Performance | Gaane Kisse Mashur Deewano Ke

Join us for an evening enveloped with heart-touching stories, classic poems and beautiful melodies that pay homage to some of the greatest folk ballads across India. Gaane Kisse Mashur Deewano Ke will bring alive epic romantic tales such as Heer-Ranjha, Ambikapathy-Amaravathy, Dhola-Maru etc. 

Performed by the duo Ulka Mayur (storyteller, theatre artist) and Sriparna Chatterjee (singer, voice-over artist), the show presents age-old tales astoundingly, dramatizing them and infusing them with classical and folk songs. 

The performance is conceptualised by Ulka, who is a writer, director and performer. She has a PhD in literature and one of her research areas is folklore. She curates lesser-known folktales into performances and stories. Sriparna is an Indian classical singer and voice-over artist. She is trained in Jaipur Gharana. She has performed in many concerts and has sung for many regional films.
