What to Expect

Dive into the enchanting world of paper shadow installations in this immersive workshop. Participants will learn to craft small cut-out shadow installations from paper, inspired by their own narratives, stories, and tales. Using the interplay of shadow and light, these imagined figures will be projected onto various surfaces, merging elements of architecture, nature, and human figures into a cohesive experiential installation.

Facilitator

Tarini Sethi is a multi-disciplinary artist known for her work in paintings, drawings, and metal sculptures. Her art explores themes of world-building, mythology, folk stories, dream worlds, and sexual emancipation. Sethi’s work blurs the boundaries between the erotic and the abject, human and non-human, creating a world defined by love and acceptance. Her creations challenge conventional notions of gender, perfection, and beauty, imagining the body as a site of infinite possibilities.

Sethi graduated from Pratt Institute in New York City in 2016 with a specialization in Drawing. Prior to this, she earned a BA in Political Science from LSR, Delhi University. She has participated in several group and solo shows in India and Los Angeles. Her works are part of prestigious museum collections on the West Coast, and she is currently preparing for upcoming shows in Japan and LA. Sethi is based between New Delhi and Mumbai.
