Sundarban Ilish Utsav
Sundarban Ilish Utsav, also known as Sundarban Hilsa Festival is a 3 Days, 2 Nights houseboat tour of the Sundarban Forest.
Unlike other Tiger Reserves & National Parks in India or abroad, Sundarbans have no Jeep safari or Elephant Safari. Hence, spotting the wildlife and flora is through a boat journey. In fact, you can choose to call it a Boat Safari.
Sightseeing Spots are: Sajnekhali / Sudharnakhali / Do Baki / Panchamukhi / Pirkhali / Choragaji / Burirdabri / Jhingekhali / Pakhiraloy & Jharkhali.
Your tour will start at 06:00 AM from Kolkata. Welcome drinks and breakfast will be served in the vehicle. Arrive at Jharkhali. The houseboat will leave the jetty at around 10:00 AM for Sundarban Mangrove Forest on the way Jhingekhali, near Bangladesh Border. Lunch, along with evening tea and snacks will be served on the houseboat itself. The houseboat will anchor in the middle of the river at night and dinner will be served at 10:00 PM.
Next day early in the morning, the houseboat will start cruising and go towards Jhingekhali and Burirdabri. You can visit the Camp / Watchtower there. After visit, continue cruising towards Pakhiraloy. Lunch, along with evening tea and snacks will be served on the houseboat itself. The houseboat will anchor in the middle of the river at night and dinner will be served at 10:00 PM.
Next day early in the morning, the houseboat will start cruising towards Sajnekhali Watch Tower, Pirkhali 1 & Pirkhali 2, Sudharnakhali, Banabibi Bharani, Sundarkhali, Choragaji , Nabaki , Do Baki and Panchamukhi. After visiting these, houseboat will return towards Jharkhali. Lunch, along with evening tea and snacks will be served on the houseboat itself. Reach Jharkhali by the evening and anchor in the Jetty. Return to Kolkata by bus and snacks will be served enroute.
