About the Event
The Art of Communication - 1 Year Program
The Art of Communication (Speech, expression & the written word)
Opens 8th August 2022 - every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
The program is designed in 4 phases. This is to ensure every child gets adequate start time to eventually interact with other children over a specific period of time. The overall course structure will be as follows.
1. First 3 months: one on one – duration 1 hour per week. One on one i.e. one child per session.
The fundamentals of English pronunciation will be taught based on specific age-appropriate publications.
2. Second 3 months: The art of expressive communication. Introduction to analytical reading, communication. Will include more than one child per session to introduce character acting, role playing based on age-appropriate publications. Up to 6 children per session.
3. Third 3 months: Development of verbal communication through role playing as well as introduction to the concept of creating original characters, story writing and storytelling. Up to 8 child per session.
4. Fourth 3 Months: Further development of creative expression through writing stories, poems, (recorded) recitation and role playing (acting) to character specific voice over recordings. Up to 8 child per session.
What should a child or parent expect to take away from this program:
To learn how to apply the correct pronunciation to English words, to recognise the importance of researching word pronunciation from authentic sources. To express her/himself articulately with no need for hand gestures, to understand and be understood in a multi-cornered conversation. Importantly to learn to write/script stories, poems, character creation, write book reviews, develop the habit of reading, fluency of communication skills, role playing or acting.
What other important activities/benefits does this program offer:
Publication of the child’s original contribution, written or verbal (through digital recording). The child’s book reviews, selected original poems & stories. Bi- annual publication of The Madhatter4Children’s Dragon Claw Club, in which the parents and children who have participated will feature including some of the best works submitted during that year.
A special printed book “The Dragon claw’s collection” will be released featuring the year’s best original Stories and Poems of the children.

What commitment is expected from the child/parent:
Must complete assignments in a timely manner. Revise taught concepts and other class related material. Parent encouragement is very essential if the child is to succeed eventually.
There will be little window for change in timing at the beginning or during the course tenure, hence it may not be possible to reschedule a missed session.
Since the sessions are arranged back to back, being punctual will help get the best from each session.
