Acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer-choreographer and Padma Bhushan awardee, Alarmél Valli, presents The Forgotten Seed - a dance tribute to the poetic imagination and the enduring rhythms, of nature, of dance, of life. Traversing a wide range of poetic modes and tones and drawing on diverse sources across the ages - in Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu, the production also invokes and reaffirms the inseparable link between word and movement, body and text.

Alarmél Valli is a leading Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer, celebrated for her ability to “turn a traditional grammar into a subtle, deeply internalized, personal dance poetry.” Among numerous awards received by Alarmél Valli are the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri from the President of India, The Chevalier of Arts and Letters from the French Government. Valli has performed on the world’s major stages including The Theatre de la Ville in Paris, Bolshoi Theatre, the New York International Festival of Arts, Edinburgh Festival, the Avignon Festival, Venice and Lyon Biennales, the Munich Opera Festival and Salzburg Festival.
