Beckoning the future of filmmaking, G5A Cinema House presents,

5 short films from 5 independent filmmakers,

Five filmmakers who have made their individual mark on the Indian independent film circuit — Saurav Rai, Archana Atul Phadke, Faraz Ali, Saumyananda Sahi, and Prateek Vats — have come together to ask, through their films, can we make cinema from the thing buzzing in our pockets?

These five short films were part of the MAMI Select : Filmed on iPhone program, shot on iPhone 15 Pro Max and edited on MacBook Pro with M3.

From Kashmir to Bangalore, the Indo-Nepalese border to Rajasthan, from Kolkata to Delhi, these are intimate, prescient portraits of what it means to be present and tender to the world even as it crumbles. The filmmakers will be joining us for a post-screening conversation, to discuss not just the ease and exigencies of shooting a film on a mobile phone, but also their respective visions of storytelling and how we can leverage the technology available to express the imagination.
