TRIP OVERVIEW
We’re going off-and-away from the city for an enriching getaway in the midst of nature, combining yoga, meditation and a gorgeous farmstay with orchards. Practice yogasanas at sunrise, meditation among the lush greens, organic meals made from produce grown right on the farm, and bird trails - the perfect way to unwind, rejuvenate and get close to your natural self! To round off the whole experience of well-being we will also go on nature walks, musical evenings, take a dip in the plunge pool, and maybe learn some pottery.
MEET YOUR HOSTS
Anuja & Sneha run the Kokum Tree - an experiential homestay, a legacy of their lovely grandmother. They gave up their city lives to make the farm and homestay what it is, and are super-enthu hosts no matter what you want to do - farm activities, learning pottery or knowing more about the surrounding flora and fauna.
Sonam & Rujuta of YogaBae are energetic trainers specializing in classic hatha yoga, certified by The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. Coming from corporate backgrounds they’re well aware of daily stress, hectic city lifestlyes & intense jobs. Yoga helped them in managing this, and they now want to share the experience through their workshops!
DAY 2: Morning yoga session, river walk and farming activities like fruit picking, meditation class, pool/ pottery time and another yoga session! Open air movie screening at night.
DAY 3: Bird watching, the last yoga session, breakfast and leave for home. (Optional: stay back for lunch)
BY CAR - The retreat farmhouse is 150 KMs from Mumbai and 120 KMs from Pune. The road is not well maintained, like so many other roads in the country, but is a very scenic drive! It takes about 3 hrs from Pune and 3.5 hours from Mumbai. We are situated at just 1 KM from Mumbai-Goa highway. Please use the Google map location for The Kokum Tree. You can also take an outstation Ola or Uber.
CAR-SHARE - We can organise group transport with a driver for trip participants if they are interested in doing the journey together. Please contact us if you’re interested . Costs for this are extra, as below.
* Car cost above is ONE WAY, and includes driver, his food and tolls.
* The cost will be divided by the final number of participants travelling in it.
BY BUS - MSRTC has excellent frequency and multiple options like semi-luxury and latest AC Shivshahi buses, taking 4-5 hours to reach from Mumbai and Pune. Once you get off at the ‘Lonere Fata’, you can easily catch a rickshaw to reach the homestay.
BY TRAIN - You can book any Konkan Railway train that stops at Mangaon. You can take a rickshaw from Mangaon directly to The Kokum Tree. It takes about 5 hrs from Mumbai, no direct trains from Pune!
