The monsoon seems to finally recede, which means, it’s time for Night Treks! Trekking in the mystifying hours of the night is a whole different ball game. The climate is favourable, there is a thrill of walking under the moon light and catching the first rays of sunrise from the top!
Harishchandragad has been around for centuries. It is a favourite amongst trekkers. There are several caves and interesting sculptures to explore and photograph. It is said that there’s still a lot of caves yet to be discovered!
The Sunrise from Tara Mati is all about that moment; a moment where you forget everything and your soul becomes one with nature.
Its famous Kokan Kada cliff offers probably one of the best views among all the treks in Maharashtra. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the beautiful Glory / Indravajra!
Pick up:
Pick up point 1:Andheri - Talwalkar Gym
Pick up point 2: Thane- On Eastern Express Highway
08:30 PM – Meet at Andheri
09:30 PM – Halt at Thane
Day 2
02:00 AM – Reach at the base village
02:30 AM – Start the trek
05:30 AM – Reach Harishchandragad and move towards Tolarkhinda to witness beautiful sunrise
07:00 AM – Explore the spectacular Konkan Kada while you have breakfast
08:00 AM – Start descending
10:30 AM – Reach the base village
11:30 AM – Have Lunch
12:30 PM - Depart for Mumbai
05:00 PM – Arrive in Mumbai
Trekking/ Hiking shoes or a comfortable pair of sport shoes with a good grip. Please make sure your shoes are in a fit condition to last through the trek as the sole gets detached from old/ casual shoes
Torch/head torch (compulsory) (mobile torch not allowed)
Personal First Aid Kit
Jacket/ Sweater for night
Cap, goggles, sunscreen etc.
Electral powder / Glucon D / Tang
A backpack to carry everything (No handbags or jholas)
Personal Sanitary Kit
Extra Pair of Clothes and socks
A light pair of slippers in the bag (for post trek).
Can walk for 5 kms without feeling tired & breathless, or
Do some physical activity on a regular basis (Cycling, Swimming, Gym etc)
Have done a simple trek before of at least 2 hours
Have not consumed alcohol in the past 24 hours
Have no medical condition which causes discomfort during any physical activity
