Are you a nature lover? if yes, then the Rajmachi trek is an apt trekking spot for you.
Rajmachi Fort is one of the most popular forts around the Lonavala region. The height of this fort from sea level is 2710 feet and it offers an amazing view of the Sahyadri Mountain and backwaters of Shirota Dam.
The magnificent fort of Rajmachi was built by the Satavahanas and was later under the reign of Shivaji Maharaj. It is located about 13 kms from the picturesque hill station of Khandala. The fort consists of two Balekillas (Shrivardhan and Manaranjan), which are the main attraction points here. The best season to visit Rajmachi is the monsoon and the winter season. Nature is at its best during this time and one can see amazing waterfalls and lush green forests en route.
The locals here are very friendly and ensure that the guests get the best hospitality possible. So, what are you waiting for? Just put on your trekking shoes, take your camera and set out for an expedition!
As you reach Karjat Station, proceed to the base village Kondivde by local transportation
At Kondivde, sumptuous breakfast will welcome you. Post that, you will have an introduction and instruction session and start ascending towards Rajmachi village; en route, you will visit Kondhana Caves. After reaching Rajmachi Village, have tea, relax for a while and start exploring the fort which includes Manoranjan Shrivardhan Lake. Overnight at Rajmachi. Night stay in the dormitory with bonfire stories and a lot of fun games
Day 2
Post breakfast, start descend from Lonavala route. Have your late lunch at Lonavala and start the journey back home with lots of beautiful memories with HikerWolf.
