About the Event
Two Weeks workshop on CFD using ANSYS Fluent
A bootcamp for engineering students on application of ANSYS Fluent in solving various engineering
problems related to computational fluid dynamics. This course teaches the essential skills you will
need to start performing basic computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations on your own to some
of the advanced real world fluid dynamic engineering problems using Ansys Fluent software.
Instructor demos and hands-on workshops cover every aspect of the end-to-end CFD workflow,
including how to perform the entire meshing and solution process in the single-window Ansys Fluent
user interface using the task-based, guided workflow for meshing imported, watertight CAD
geometry, applying various turbulence models, solver settings, external aerodynamics application,
conjugate heat transfer (CHT), user defined function(udf) etc.
What you will learn?
- To provide the right foundation for GUI-based CFD, the ANSYS CFD course
begins with an introduction to CFD and its applications. You will learn about
the basic governing equations solved and the different schemes and
algorithms used to stabilize and improve the solution's accuracy.
- The next module deals with the application of ANSYS Fluent for the
simulation of basic compressible and incompressible flows. It introduces you
to the complete streamlined workflow process on the Workbench tool from
geometry creation to the post-processing stage.
- Learn to set up Steady-State Simulations and create Runtime Animation of
Engineering Parameters in the following module. Meshing techniques for
improving solution accuracy, setting up Virtual Wind Tunnels using the
Enclosure Utility, understanding Vortices, and calculating Downforce and Drag
on a vehicle are also part of this course.
- Customize programs and create different monitor points to get the relevant
information needed to form a simulation. Combustion applications and
simulation of reacting flows are included in the final module.
