About Kaas Plateau

Kaas Plateau also is known as the "Kaas Pathar" is situated in the Western Ghats Sahyadri range, 22 km from Satara city in the state of Maharashtra, India.

The name Kaas originates from Kaasa tree. As the leaves of this tree mature, they turn from green to red.

During the flowering season from mid-August to October, almost every inch of the plateau is bedecked with flowers of various colors and sizes.

In fact, recently, Kaas has been declared as a Biodiversity World Heritage Site by The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) due to the floral diversity found here.

Itinerary:

Day 0:

11.00 pm:- Leave Dadar For Kass Pathar

Day 1:

05:15 am Reach the base village and take some rest

06:15 am Wake-up call, freshen-up and have breakfast & Tea

07:15 am Small Introduction Round

07:30 am Get ready for the Kass Pathar

08:15 am Reach plateau, and enjoy the Valley of Flowers

11:15 am Start descending returning towards the base.

12:15 pm Leave for Kaas lake or Kumudini flower lake (If time Permit)

01:30 pm Freshen up, and have Lunch (Local Cusine)

03:30 pm Leave for Mumbai.

10:00 pm Reach Mumbai and promise to meet soon.

Any kind of personal expenses. (Like- Carrying personal camera to a restricted area, breaking a rule and being fined by local authority, expenses occurred due to a personal negligence, etc.)

All expenses incurred due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances like roadblocks, bad weather, etc.

Things to Remember:-

Basic toilet facility will be available at the base village.

We advise participants to not opt such event with any medical issues.

We don’t recommend participants to reach the base village with own vehicle as considering complicated route & respecting everyone’s time.

Smoking/drinking/ Smoke up is strictly prohibited during the event. Anyone found will be expelled from the event immediately.

Trek Leader decision will be final & argument will be entertained.
