Please be seated by 7pm and follow the security guidelines.

Performers' Consortium is a Spoken Word Poetry platform dedicated to increasing the accessibility of the art form, with a focus on democratising art narratives and promoting inclusive, responsible art that steers away from homophobic, sexist or stereotypical content. The showcase will feature performances curated by Divya Dureja.

Divya Dureja (Curator & Performer)

Divya Dureja is a 3 times TEDx Speaker with a nuanced body of work in poetry film and performance, seminars and training on women and queer issues across different countries. She is a well-renowned counselling psychologist, mental health and sexuality educator, an international spoken word poet, a creative strategies consultant and an events curator and presenter with her own organisation based in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

About the performers:

Taksh

Taksh is a twenty-four year old fashion blogger, stylist and poet. She is also the creative director of a transgender welfare initiative called KHEM. More of an exorcism than an exercise in free verse, her poetry explores the experience of queer life; dealing with themes of love, family, home and loss.

Renu

Born in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh and brought up in Varanasi, Renu is a renowned painter, ceramic artist and Hindi poet. Like a true multi-disciplinarian of the arts, when colours tempt her to paint, she immerses herself in their tonal palette and when colours become words for her, they spread themselves over paper for her in the form of poems.

Neeti Banga

Neeti Banga is a fashion professional, currently teaching full time at her Alma mater, The National Institute of Fashion Technology, NIFT, New Delhi. She began writing at an early age of seven, and her poems have been published in many national and international anthologies including 'Spectrum' and 'Just for you my love' by ' The Poetry Society of India'. Her second poetry anthology - 'The Dewdrops...a journey begins', with two co-poets has been one of the bestsellers on Amazon.in. She was also amongst the top ten winners for Ashwin Sanghi for Time of India’s #WriteIndia Contest. She is currently compiling her short stories and next solo poetry book.

Aparajita

Aparajita likes to think that she exists in gaps - in between reiterations - repetitions, preaching - teaching, listing - listening. Her writing too, nestles between the stark and the snarky, built around the belief that people are either sheep or ships. Either our stories shepherd us, or we ferry our own stories. An English teacher by profession, Aparajita has been a part of the Delhi poetry circuit for half a decade now. She has been featured in events throughout India, in addition to judging and hosting many college level slams and poetry-music showcases across Delhi.

Radhika Sharma

At 21, Radhika Sharma describes herself as someone who works on the extremes of logic and creativity. She is a data analyst by profession, and a poet in all other respects. She likes to make political statements sound like verses of songs, and poems sound like postcards written for people. Her poems deal with complex personal experiences, gender issues, political, social movements and how they affect the lives humans live.

Meghna

Meghna Prakash is a confessional poet. Her work has been published in numerous publications like Scroll, Midday, HT, Homegrown, Ethos Literary Journal, Why Indian Men Rape, Indian Express, Kritya, amongst others. Meghna is currently working with Caravan Magazine as an editorial intern and is a student of peace and conflict at LSR, Delhi.

Shreyasi Sharma

Shreyasi Sharma completed her post graduation in Literary Art Creative writing from Ambedkar University Delhi. She writes narrative non-fiction, fiction, and poetry. Her writings have appeared in The Citizen, Feminism in India and The Hindu. Currently, she is working on a short fictitious series about a house and a children’s fiction.

Aina

Aina Singh is an aspiring academic, with a keen interest in Feminist and Queer studies. She has pursued her Bachelors and Masters degrees in English Literature, and is now teaching in Delhi University. She has invested her time in activism, theatre and performance poetry, viewing it as inextricably linked with academics.

Ankita Anand

Ankita Anand is a writer-poet-journalist whose work revolves around issues of social justice. She also facilitates writing and theatre workshops for people of various age groups, nationalities, and different linguistic and educational backgrounds.
