For the second time and back on popular demand, WAC: Women About Community, Networking Now and Work In Progress are jointly hosting an all-women’s panel discussion. The panel, hosted exclusively at the newly launched membership-only 'The A Club, will be an in-depth discussion between three prominent female entrepreneurs, talking about the challenges and opportunities of mastering the digital space, and sharing light and insights on how they’ve leveraged digital to build their brand and rock their business.
Karishma Mehta is the Founder of popular & inspiring Facebook and Instagram Pages, “Humans of Bombay”. She started this journey in early 2017 with an aim to capture real-life stories of the people of Bombay and help others to know the strangers on the streets of their own city. Today, it has become a Community wherein people join to get inspired and motivated by real-life stories. These Community has approved the Success and Power of people in need, by raising over ₹40 Lakh funds for various NGOs. Karishma holds Business & Economics degree from the University of Nottingham in the U.K., is a self-taught photographer, a frequent TEDx speaker, and believes that “if you follow your passion, things will come to you.”
Payal Singhal is a leading South Asian fashion house established in 1999. Singhal designs for the quality and design conscious who value and appreciate the art of fashion. The ‘Payal Singhal’ signature look is contemporary Indian clothing and translates effortlessly from Indian to Western.
Born in Mumbai, Payal produced her first couture look at the tender age of 15 outfitting none other than Miss World Aishwarya Rai by winning the “Designer of the Year Award” from Shopper’s Stop. Granddaughter of renowned artist and photographer J.P. Singhal and daughter of Designer and Entrepreneur Dinesh Singhal of London Fashions, Payal grew up amidst films, fashion and art.
After completing an award winning design degree at the Fashion Design Department of SNDT, Mumbai and Summer School at The Parsons School of Design and several certificate courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York Payal launched her label with two flagship stores in Mumbai. Following the success of the brand in India Payal went on to expand her business to the US where she had several sold out trunk shows and then went on to open flagship stores in New York and New Jersey.
While in the US Payal worked on several projects with prestigious organizations like The Asia Society, Sakhi for South Asian Women, The South Asian Women’s Leadership Forum and The Layton RahmatullaBenevolent Trust (LRBT) Payal was invited by the City of Chicago and the City ofHouston to represent India and Indian Fashion. Also during this time Payal was invited to showcase her collection at the Fashion Week of the Americas in Miami and the Singapore Fashion Festival.
Now back in India since 2010 Payal enjoys a strong following among chic style-makers and fashionistasworld over.
