This three-day onsite “Workshop on Bikaner School of Miniature” is brought to you by CelebratingIndia.org and Art Tree.  

The workshop will be conducted by Master Craftsman Awardee, Shri Mahaveer Swami. Mahaveer Swami is one of the finest traditional artists of Bikaner School of Miniatures working in India today. He has received major awards and honours for his artwork including the national Sanskriti, Kala-Shree and Rajiv Ratna awards. His work has been exhibited extensively in prestigious galleries in India and abroad. Currently, Mahaveer’s works are in the collections of over 17 museums and galleries in India and internationally.

Workshop details:

• Date: From 24th to 26th of September 2021
• Timings: From 11:30 am to 1:30 pm | 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm daily
• Duration: 6 hours (2 hours daily spanning 3 days)
• Location: Bikaner House, Pandara Road, New Delhi.
• Materials: Will be provided by the organizers on site.

Number of workshop participants is limited so that the master artist can explain the technique and nuances of the art form to each participant individually and in detail.

In this workshop Mahaveer Swami will first talk about the characteristics and nuances of the Bikaner School of Miniature. Next the master artist will give a theme to the participants, which the participants will translate to an actual art form. Over three days Mahaveer Swami will personally guide the participants with their work and assist them in completing their work, simultaneously highlighting the significance and beauty of the Bikaner School of Miniature.
