Human beings are like stories, made up of two things - bag of memories, future possibilities.

And the moment where these two meet is the present and that is where we live, think, deliberate and finally create. Just like in a story one needs to make choices about what can happen, we create a cause and effect in our lives too. This parallel between a life and the characters in any story creates certain relatability to any story and is the basis of catharsis that one goes through. And that experience is like a mini surrender to the forces of life.

In this workshop we will deliberate on how to create stories, one liners, plots and characters with empathy and with an effort to heal the chaotic world.

About the facilitator:

At the age of 18, Hitesh Kewalya started working as a writer for All India Radio in 1998, which made him need to take up writing as his career. Hopping through different fields like theatre, advertising, illustrations for a magazine, he finally found his calling in Mumbai in 2005. He has some award winning shows and films to his credit which incorporate among others like, Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan, Humse hai life, Iss pyar ko kya naam doon. His films have brought sexuality down from a high pedestal to our drawing room conversations. Whether it’s a soggy biscuit to depict erectile dysfunction or a same sex kiss in Bhartiya Railway, Writer and Director Hitesh Kewalya aspires to always find a quirky, light-hearted way to start difficult conversations and portray failings and triumphs of relationships and the human spirit.
