While reviewing the broad categories of creative writing, from commercial to literary, the participants will learn how AI can assist them through the different stages, starting from idea generation to developing the voice and tone, to dialogue writing, editing, and re-writing. About the Himalayan Writing Retreat

Started in 2016, The Himalayan Writing Retreat is amongst India’s favoured destinations for writers and poets. The retreat is a residential facility located in Satkhol Village near Mukteshwar in Uttarakhand. Some people come here to learn, while others seek solitude to write. Co-founded by published authors Chetan Mahajan and Vandita Dubey, The Himalayan Writing Retreat is dedicated to the literary arts.

The Himalayan Writing Retreat offers domestic programs (3-4 days in duration) and international events (usually 10 days long). The domestic courses include poetry, creative writing, non-fiction writing, translation etc. Many of our Alums have gone on to study writing and film overseas. Chinmayi Sirsi, an HWR participant, was recently accepted into the Iowa Writers Workshop.

The Himalayan Writing Retreat has stellar faculty who visit and teach specific programs and workshops. These include Erika Krouse whose memoir “Tell Me Everything” won the Edgar Award last month. Other faculty-members include Jerry Pinto, Arundhathi Subramaniam and Venita Coelho, each one a Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer.The Himalayan Writing retreat is also one of the selected partners for the French Residency under the “Villa Swagatam” initiative of the French Institute.

Instructions

• Please be at the venue by 10 AM for registrations. The workshop will begin at 10:30 AM and will go on until 4 PM.
• Lunch and Refreshments will be provided during the workshop.
• The workshop will include hands-on activities like getting introduced to various AI platforms. We encourage you to please bring your laptops/ Tablets / Phones or similar devices with access to the internet to participate and go through the process live with the experts.
• Please carry a photo ID card for hassle-free check-in at the venue.
• Limited paid parking available around the venue
