3-Day Coorg Itinerary (Friday Night Departure) with Optional Mandalpatti Trek

Day 1: Friday Night

• Departure: Leave for Coorg from your city (Bangalore or nearby) around 10:00 PM by car or bus.
• Overnight Travel: Enjoy the overnight journey which takes approximately 5-6 hours.

Day 2: Saturday

• Arrival in Coorg: Arrive in Coorg early morning (around 4:00 - 6:00 AM). Check into your resort/homestay and freshen up.
• Breakfast: Enjoy a traditional Coorgi breakfast at your stay.
• Dubare Elephant Camp: After breakfast visit Dubare Elephant Camp (about 1 hour from Madikeri). Interact with elephants enjoy a ride and even bathe them in the river.
• Lunch: Return to your resort for lunch or dine at a nearby local restaurant.
• Abbey Falls: In the afternoon visit Abbey Falls surrounded by lush greenery and coffee plantations.
• Raja's Seat: Head to Raja's Seat in the evening to witness a stunning sunset over the Western Ghats.
• Dinner: Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Sunday

• Optional Early Morning Mandalpatti Trek: For those seeking adventure start your day with a trek to Mandalpatti. This offbeat spot offers panoramic views of the Western Ghats. You can reach the base via a jeep ride followed by a short trek. Note: The drive to Mandalpatti can be bumpy so be prepared for some adventure.
• Breakfast: Return to the resort/homestay for breakfast after the trek (if you choose this option).
• Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple): After breakfast visit Bylakuppe to explore the famous Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple) one of the largest Tibetan settlements in South India.
• Lunch: Have lunch at a nearby restaurant or back at your stay.
• Coffee Plantation Tour: Spend your afternoon exploring a coffee plantation where you can learn about the coffee-making process and enjoy a peaceful walk through the estate.
• Evening Leisure: Relax at your resort in the evening enjoy resort activities (cycling bonfire spa etc.) or simply unwind.
• Dinner: Enjoy a traditional Coorgi dinner and settle in for the night.

Day 4: Monday

• Breakfast & Checkout: Have breakfast and check out of your stay by 10:00 AM.
• Talakaveri: Visit Talakaveri the origin of the River Kaveri located on the Brahmagiri Hills. The spot offers breathtaking views and spiritual significance.
• Lunch: Enjoy lunch en route or at a local restaurant near Talakaveri.
• Departure: Start your journey back to your home city in the afternoon (around 2:00 - 3:00 PM) to arrive by evening (7:00 - 8:00 PM).
