Do you find the idea of making Abstract Art exciting? Do you want to dive in to making some beautiful pieces on your own? What if you wanted to make your original abstract art pieces without copying anyone else style in color, form or technique? Join us for a couple of hours for a session on making abstract art using the concepts of color theory, values, contrast, shape & form. There will be no spoon feeding in the session but I promise you that you'll leave with some amazing art pieces! Even though this is a beginner friendly workshop, it’s also super relevant for artists looking to try out their hands at abstract art.

About the Instructor: Sai Priya Mahajan is an Indian Contemporary Artist who recently won the Outstanding Watercolor Award at the Boldbrush Contest. An engineering graduate from IIT Bombay, she has now exhibited in India (Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh) as well as internationally (NY, Philadelphia - USA, Toronto-Canada, Taipei-Taiwan) and is part of several Art Associations including the International Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, USA and a lifetime member of the Art Society of India. Sai loves to share the joy of painting by teaching various art forms and has conducted many art workshops in the past.

Rough Schedule

First 5 mins - Introduction

Next 1 hr - Make some paintings using techniques & tricks

Next 1 hr - Conceptualise & make your own abstract art piece

Last 5 mins - Wrap up and photos

Materials: you have to arrange for this. You will need acrylic paints, 1 flat brush of size between 6 to 10, 1 medium size round brush of size between 6-10, 1 small size round brush about size 0-3, canvas panel or canvas pads, thick watercolor or acrylic paper (this is for practice so you can also use a canvas pad or sheets for this), masking tape, a pen, a pencil, eraser, cotton swabs, and some basics like tissues, water, some rough papers, hair dryer (optional), a plate/palette/straight hard surface to use as a palette, palette knife/old credit or debit card (optional), IPA (optional).

Please be ready with all required materials at least 5-10 mins before the start of the session. Register using the participants name, email & phone number, on which whatsapp is functional, this is where all communication will be sent. Please note that all timings are in IST (GMT+5:30hrs).

Late entries are not allowed. Please familiarise yourself with Zoom and its usage so you can join in on time, and have no trouble during the session. Zoom link will be sent to you 10 mins before the start of the session on whatsapp.

Important T&C: Ticket price is per user per session. For example, if two people are attending using one login, please pay for 2 people. This ticket is valid only for the said date and time and cannot be used for other workshops. Videos not included. Non-refundable. Tickets once booked, cannot be cancelled/ rescheduled/refunded. Please note that organiser reserves the right the remove a participant if the participant makes the artist uncomfortable, refuses to switch on video and or acts in a way that is seen as harmful or discriminatory to artist or other participants.
