Looking for your next trek destination? Back your bags and leave overnight to an altitude of 2,725 feet above sea level and begin a wonderful trek through the lush green hill station of Agumbe in Shimoga, Karnataka.

Located at a distance of 380 km from Bangalore, Agumbe is a high altitude village in the Malnad region of Karnataka and is often referred to as “The Cherrapunji of the South” because of its scenic beauty and biodiversity. It also comprises of many medicinal plants and is home to the only Rainforest Research Station in India. Surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Western Ghats, covered in depths of lowland rainforests and touched by beautiful waterfalls and streams, Agumbe is the perfect place for a trek.

Start your journey through a trail of forest to immerse yourself in the beauty of a waterfall, warm your hands over the campfire, travel to the era of Malgudi days and drink in the spectacular view from one of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats.

DAY 0

- Depart from Bangalore At 8 PM

DAY 1

- Reach Homestay/Campsite

- Freshen Up and Breakfast

- Reach The Trek Base and Start Your Trek To Kavaledurga Fort (6vkms to and fro)

- Packed lunch

- Time for a dip in river Kattina Madike

- Return to homestay

- Campfire ( if weather permits)

- Dinner

- Rest for The Night

DAY 2

- Have Breakfast

- A Small easy trek to the highest peak in Agumbe Rainforest is to Kundadri Hills ( total 6 kms)

- Self-sponsored lunch

- A small hike to Sirimane Waterfalls

- Visit to Famous Shringeri Temple (optional )

- Depart to Bangalore and reach by 5 AM next morning(Approx)

- STAY

- Campsite
