Who is He or She?

The play features some of the prominent actors of the country, including Aryan Pratap Singh, M Sayeed Alam, Tanay Tarany, Shubham Gaur etc., with the theatrical experience of each of them spanning over more than 1000 shows, 25 plays and 10 years.

The play has been written by Mrinal Mathur, a regular contributor of the much needed original plays to Indian Theatre.

It has been directed by Dr M Sayeed Alam, reputed for his penchant for Humour & History.   

Last but not the least, the play is produced by Pierrot’s Troupe - the theater company credited with giving several new, original and long running COMEDIES, including Ghalib In New Delhi, Cut…Cut…Cut, Big B, Pakistan Aur Alzheimer’s, To Gandhi Ji With Spelling Mistakes, Chacha Chhakkan In Action, A Private Affair etc.

Dr M Sayeed Alam – Dr M Sayeed Alam is an active theatre practitioner in the capacities of Writer, Director and Actor since 1994. Ever since, he has performed in more than 1,500 shows of about 40 plays. He is acknowledged in particular for giving many original plays to Hindi and Urdu Theatre. His plays have been performed widely in India and abroad. His prominent works on stage include: Ghalib In New Delhi, K L Saigal, Maulana Azad, Cut...Cut...Cut, Big B, Ghalib, Lal Qile Ka Aakhri Mushaera, Ghalib Ke Khat, Sons of Babur, A Private Affair, Sir Iqbal, Pakistan Aur Alzheimer’s, Shah Jahan – o -Mumtaz,  Tumko Chahoon, Chacha Chchakkan In Action, Maulana Azad Ke Qalam Se, Padiye Agar Beemar. Modern Art 2000, Pollution Hazir Ho, Mai Abu Salem Hun, The Tale of Quarles etc.

Mrinal Mathur - Mrinal Mathur is a playwright and an actor also. His other published Hindi play, Pashmina, has been successfully staged in Mumbai and Amritsar. Pashmina is a winner of the national level playwriting competition, Sanhita Manch 2018. His published plays include: 40 Something - Two Solo Acts, and Dev, Divya aur Duniya. He also blogs as playwrightmrinal@wordpress.com. Mrinal has turned to playwriting after a successful corporate career spread over two decades.

Jaskiran Chopra – Jaskiran Chopra has started her acting career quite late in her life i.e. in her 60s, but has excelled as an actress of repute in a very short span of time. Her portrayal of Mirza Ghalib’s wife (Umrao Begum) in Ghalib Ke Khat has won plaudit from critics and audiences alike. Equally memorable has been her portrayal of a middle aged Dhoban in Chacha Chchakkan In Action. And no less recognition has her acting prowess received in the plays like Cut... Cut...Cut, K L Saigal etc.

Aryan Pratap – Aryan Pratap is cut out for acting, given his superb voice, physique and acting skills. He has been active on Delhi Theatre scene for last two years or so. During this period he has impressed all and sundry with his immense acting talent and voice modulation in plays like Raja Nahar Singh, Shah Jahan-o-Mumtaz and Lal Qile Ka Aakhri Mushaira etc.

Prashant Nagar– Prashant Nagar divides his time between engineering and theatre. He has joined the latter barely six months ago. During this period, he has impressed all and sundry with his immense acting talent in plays like Ghalib, Mohan Se Mahatma, Raja Nahar Singh, Ghalib, Shah Jahan-o-Mumtaz etc.

Aarifa Noori --  Aarifa Noori is a seasoned actress at a very young age. She has impressed the audiences and critics alike in plays like Mohan Se Mahatma, The Tale Of Quarles and Chacha Chhakkan In Action etc.  

Ashutosh Kumar – Asutosh Kumar is a young boy, pursuing theatre as a profession. While doing so, he has excelled in portraying historical characters in plays like Sons of Babur, Ghalib and Lal Quile Ka Aakhri Mushaera etc.

Tanay Tarny – Tanay Tarny is a young actor who is widely acclaimed for his penchant for portraying old and aged characters on stage, particularly the 90 year old ‘Samta Prasad’ in BIG B. He alone has done about 75 shows of this play all over India. Adept in English, Hindi and Urdu, he has played major roles in English plays like Sons of Babur, Tale of the Taj, The Undoing, and Big B as well as Hindi and Urdu plays like Lal Quile Ka Aakhri Mushaera, Babur Ki Aulad, Shah Jahan -o- Mumtaz. 

Honey Kapasia – Honey Kapasia is a budding artist from Pierrot’s Troupe. In a short span of his acting career, he has ended up playing quite a good number of roles in the troupe’s plays, including, Sons of Babur, K L Saigal, Mohan Se Mahatma etc. 

Gyanesh Sharma – Gyanesh Sharma is a budding artist who has impressed all and sundry with his stunning performances in plays like K L Saigal, Babur Ki Aulaad and Mohan Se Mahatma.

Shiva Sood – Shiva Sood is a young man in his early 20s. But, by sheer hard work and immense talent, he has been able to perform with ease and aplomb many difficult roles in plays like Sons of Babur, Lal Quile Ka Aakhri Mushaera and Mohan Se Mahatma.

Chaitanya Puri – Chaitanya Puri is a seasoned actor of Pierrot’s Troupe, known for his penchant for portraying comic as well as intense characters with equal ease and aplomb:

Bhoomi Nighat Siraj – Bhoomi Siraj is a media personality. She has earlier dabbled into film making, publication and poetry writing. This is her second brush with theatre with The Tale of Quarles being her first production. 

Rahul Paswan– Rahul Paswan is a budding artist. Not only he is an actor, but a Jewellery designer also. Apart from playing an important role in Pierrot’s Troupe’s The Tale of Quarles, he has also looked after the set and light designing of many plays of the troupe.

Shubham Gaur – Shubham Gaur is a media personality as a film maker, a novelist and an actor of repute. 

Bilal Mir– Bilal Mir is is a senior actor whose experience in acting ranges from street plays to stage plays to TV Serials to Cinema.

Sushila Anand– Sushila Anand is an English teacher by profession. However, acting has been her childhood hobby with Shakespearean plays being her forte. But after doing a good number of shows of Ghalib In New Delhi and A Private Affair, she has dabbled into Hindi-Urdu Theatre also, and that too successfully.    

Punam Bhutani – Poonam Bhutani is a media personality who has of late dabbled into theatre also. She has acted in , acted well, in plays like Ghalib, Sons of Babur.   

Hemank Soni – Hemank Soni is hardly in his early 20s, yet, he has acted in more various plays. Young but seasoned, Soni has won plaudits, from the critic and audiences alike, for his apt portrayal of the English men in Tale of The Quarles. He has impressed no less in plays like Ghalib, Ghalib Ke Khat and Sons Of Babur .
