ABOUT THE ARTIST

Dr. Deepak John Mathew

A design professor and a practicing photographer living and working in India Working as a professional photographer, designer, illustrator, and painter. Deepak John Mathew is a Professor at IIT Hyderabad and founding head of Design department of Design at IIT Hyderabad, Adjunct professor at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia

and Adjunct professor at IIT Jodhpur. He was the head of photography design till 2013 at National Institute of Design. He has a PhD in Design Education and postgraduate degree in graphics. He has an experience spanning over 27 years in professional photography, painting, and graphics. He has authored two books and more than 150 papers. He has received many awards and exhibited his work in many international and national exhibitions. His interests include Virtual Reality, Augmented reality, digital preservation of Heritage, drone design, history of art, color and form, illustration, printmaking and painting apart from photography.
