Paintings, collages, stories and much more in this Art Jam where you get a unique opportunity to co-create with your friends, family, and your kids. It is open for all newbies, painters, sketchers, and kids, where you carry out the art projects on your own or team up as parent-child team. No prior art knowledge is required.

Participants will learn the basics of watercolors, drawing, and sketching, while kids will kick-start their interest in art through this jam by story-based drawing. Art has been known to bring benefits of calming, expressing, hand-eye coordination and developing memory. This art jam will introduce you to all these benefits while not forgetting to have fun, as the theme of this jam revolves around Ajji and Mili into the Forest a watercolors illustration based book that introduces children to nature through the mediums of stories, drawing, painting and a bit of magic too!

This Art jam covers:

- An introduction to drawing

- A demo of basic drawing

- A demo of using watercolors

- An introduction to stories and illustration for children

- A presentation of the book 'Ajji and Mili into The Forest'

- Drawing & painting by participants based on all of the above

This workshop is open to all age groups. Kids younger than 6 years should attend this workshop along with parent/adult

About the theme & facilitator

Ajji and Mili - Is a Children's Book Series, the first of which is "Ajji and Mili - Into the Forest". It is an endeavor not only to create an engaging and entertaining book with watercolor illustrations for children but also as a way of introducing nature to children through stories. It is a way of introducing children to flora and fauna, environmental topics through engaging stories with a tad bit of magic in the mix. It is a story of adventure and camaraderie, of compassion and friendship.

About the facilitator of this jam:

Parinitha Konanurs love for illustrations started in her childhood and has never faded since. This has led her to believe that illustrated Children's books can help develop a child's imagination, cognition, memory and more.

The reason she started writing Ajji and Mili was that she grew up listening to her Grandmothers (Ajji) stories, one story led to another and another. Parinitha has always loved nature but got more involved with environmental issues about 5 years ago, from where stemmed the concept of illustration based book series to make children more aware of conservation.This book tries to do that with stories and with adventure, with magic and fun.

Parinitha Konanur is an artist, illustrator and designer. She has a degree in fine arts from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath and worked as a photographer before becoming a full-time illustrator and designer. She has been exploring the many facets of sketching and illustrations since she fell in love with watercolors, exploring new ways of sketching along with urban sketching and travel sketching. She is a nature lover and is obsessed with natural history illustrations and live sketching in nature. She loves to travel to explore and understand the world around her, with a keen eye and thirst for finding new cultures, colors, themes to bring about in her conceptual drawings and watercolor illustrations.
