Authenticook, in collaboration with Independence Brewing Company (IBC), is serving Bohri Thaal this September.

Authenticook are a platform that provides social meal experiences at home or at a pop-up. For this pop-up, their home chef Nivedita will be cooking the favourites of Bohri cuisine. She, along with the talented kitchen team of IBC, will prepare a full non-veg spread which will include Keema Samosas, Mutton Cream Tikka, Chicken Biryani, Nalli Nihari and much more.

Home chef Nivedita is a homemaker and developed her passion for food early on in her childhood. Her husband and 8-year old son are her biggest fans and critics. As a child, she used to sit with her grandmother and learn how to cook new dishes. She always grabs any opportunity to learn something new and experiment in the kitchen. Through this event, she wishes to give people a taste of traditional Bohri flavours and traditions.

The traditional way of eating this meal is to share the food from the same thaal (separate plates will be provided on request). A Bohri meal begins with the youngest person around the thaal providing the salt to everyone and then having a pinch of it. This acts as a palate cleanser before and after the meal. Then comes the dessert (yes, dessert is the first course), followed by a savoury appetizer before the main course makes its entry. A Bohri thaal is extremely fulfilling - for your appetite and in happiness quotient.
