About the Event
We bend, so we don't break! Yoga with Garia invites you for Bacbending workshop.
Learn 5 strong backbends online for a healthy spine in-depth with proper technique and modifications suitable for your body!
Saturday | 9th May | 10 to 11.30 am | INR 799

Here are the five major postures that you will be learning along with various back strengthening and stretches.
1. Urdhva dhanurasana
2. Ustrasana
3. Ekpada Rajakapotasana
4. Chakrasana
5. Natrajasana
We will provide you with modifications for every posture so you get the similar benefits even if you don't get into the full expression of them.
Start living the process and the asanas will happen just in time and with consistent practice. We don't necessarily measure our progress with how deep we went in the pose physically. True progress lies within the consistency and dedication. ❤️
Benefits of doing Backbends :
1. Strong, flexible and a healthy spine: We are as old as our spine is young. Moving the spine in various directions can help us stay young physically and emotionally.
2. Corrects hunched shoulders and rounded upper back: These days as we sit with our spine in flexion in front of the screen, backbends (extensions) counterposes the sitting action giving you a good posture and releases the back pain.
3. Opens your heart: Literally, backbends open your heart space and may trigger emotional reactions. By physically doing stretches that open the heart space can lead to the flow of energy in a way that helps you come closer to yourself and your emotions. It's okay to be vulnerable during the practice. It's all part of the process.
4. Explore movements and emotions: When we experience danger, fear, or trauma, it is our body’s natural defence to curl up and contract. Backbending helps us confront any stored or unresolved emotion by opening up the heart space and spine. With an open and healthy heart chakra, you are able to give and receive love freely.
