Tis the sea-sun to go beach-hopping!
The town of Gokarna, just south of Goa, is home to a pristine stretch of beaches in western Karnataka. Its a wholesome mix of relaxing by the beach with a beer and a book, and hiking to a secret beach literally called Paradise. The town is also home to the ancient Mahabaleshwar temple and, legend has it, houses the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. This is, by far, one of the most chilled-out backpacking trips you will find.

The first pickup point is at 1:00 pm at Andheri (E), Hanuman bus stop from where we board our AC semi-sleeper bus to Gokarna. You can board the bus from other stops which are mentioned below. The bus will make a dinner halt on the way.
Day 2
Our ride will drop us to Madangeri at around 3:00 am, from where we will board our private vehicles to Kudle Beach (pronounced 'cood-lay', not 'cuddle'). From here, we take a short walk to reach our beachside homestay. Yes, we're getting there early, but that's why you have the rest of the day to sleep, eat, drink, swim, whatever. You do you.
We'll regroup in the late afternoon for a trip to Honey Beach. It's about an hours ride away. To get there, we'll pass by quaint coastal hamlets and go on a ferry over the Gangavalli River. Dig your toes into the sand and watch a magical sunset, before we head back to the homestay for some downtime. The day won't be done just yet though. As night approaches, its adventure time! We'll go on a night hike to Paradise Beach. The name speaks for itself. It's the perfect place to stare up at the starry night sky, walk along a moonlit shore and listen to the waves crashing in the dark. We'll head back to the rooms after this excursion.
Day 3
After a hearty breakfast, we will go on a short hike to explore Gokarna's other beaches (Om and Half Moon). We could halt at a café for a break. After lunch, we will check out and head to Gokarna town. You're free to visit the ancient Mahabaleshwar temple which has drawn pilgrims from around the world for centuries. You could also visit the bazaar to sample some good South Indian food and buy locally grown spices. Come evening time, we'll make our way back to Madangeri to board the bus to our cityscapes.
Day 4
We arrive back home around 8:00 am in the morning, refreshed and ready to take on the world!
Our guesthouse is situated right on the beach, so the insect situation is quite real. Please carry insect repellents to avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes.

What will the weather be like when we visit?
The weather in Gokarna will be hot during the day (around 35°) and cool at night (around 23°). Please make sure you carry sunscreen lotion to avoid sunburns.
What will the accommodation be like?
This is a budget backpacking trip. We will be staying in a guesthouse (NOT a hotel). Each room will be shared amongst 3 people. There will be an attached bathroom with a western toilet.
What kind of food options would be available on the trip?
There are many restaurants to try out at Kudle and the other beaches nearby. The cuisines vary from continental to Italian and Israeli. There's also Indian, Chinese and local South Indian food that you can sample.
15 days prior to the date of departure: Rs 3,000 will be deducted
7 days prior to the date of departure: Rs 4,250 will be deducted
1 week to the date of departure: No refund
