About the Event
Have you ever watched Comicstaan? Laughed for a good hour and thought to yourself “I can be on stage! Would want to do that, seems fun.” Well, we have great news for you! Sakshi is bringing to you in this time’s Teach for outreach, Basics of Writing Sketch Comedy by none other than, Naveen Richard on 8th November at 7 PM. So, put on your comedy cap, donate what you can for the prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and sign up for this fun-filled workshop by one of the most versatile comedians Naveen!
About Naveen:
Naveen Richard is easily one of the most versatile comedians in the industry with a natural flair for acting. He is a member of comedy collective Them Boxer Shorts, who created the acclaimed web series Better Life Foundation. He has also acted in Challenge Accepted (a Comedy Central TV show), Starboyz (a comedy sci-fi web series with Kenny Sebastian) and acts as Uncle Francis, a comedic avatar which has found a cult following. From being a finalist on Comedy Central’s Indian Comedy Festival 2012, this former lawyer has performed over 400 stand-up shows and headlined comedy events such as Stage42, Bangalore Comedy Festival and Chennai’s Fringe Comedy Festival. In 2017, he wrote and played Pankaj in the hilarious web series Pushpavalli.
About the workshop:
A sketch is a comedic exploration of a concept, character or situation. So, long-drawn writing work which is short, funny, and performed live on stage it is considered a comedy sketch.
Naveen in this workshop will go into how to get an idea to write a sketch, how you develop it and most importantly, the pointers to have fun with it!
Sakshi is an an organisation that is leading systemic intervention to prevent sexual violence. Through The Rakshin Project we are engaging over 40 Lakh youth to become preventers of child sexual abuse!
