ABOUT THE ESTATE:

AnaiKadu is a coffee farm growing both Arabica and Robusta varietals of coffee, in Maldare Village of South Kodagu. The estate shares its boundary with the Devamachi reserve forest. The name AnaiKadu holds the name of Kurian’s and Nisha’s 8-year old daughter Anaika, and roughly translates to elephant jungle (with Ānai meaning elephant and Kādu meaning jungle) since the farm is next to the jungle and has the majestic elephants frequently visiting.

ABOUT THE FAMILY:

Kurian is a 4th generation planter who has now embraced planting as his full time profession, after spending years in the corporate and entrepreneurial space. Nisha works with Kurian specifically on the post-harvest processing of specialty coffee and is also learning more about the day-to-day activities in planting.
