There was a time when Daniel Fernandes used to work in advertising. He then hit enlightenment and bid adieu to his fledging career, and took to stand-up comedy. Daniel’s material is based on his experiences with travel, 69 failed relationships and his favorite Indian community amongst other things, and was recently touring with the show that highlighted his journey as a comedian in the last 5 years. He believes that everything he has to face in life has comic potential so why not just laugh it off? One of the biggest comics in India, he is a regular at Canvas Laugh Club and Comedy Store. He has captured the better side of everyone with his really funny take on various topical issues on YouTube and on stage.

A journalist by qualification, Gaurav Kapoor is another by-product of the famous Bollywood Kapoor family. Just kidding. The comedian is a sweet Delhi boy who does what he is expected to – hold a respectable job (he has one in retail) and make people laugh when needed (his secret profession). His razor sharp wit and candid humor lead him to win almost every open-mic he has ever participated in (yes, he is that good), including the Big Mic, Canvas Laugh Club, Chalta Hai and Buzz Off. So good that he opened for the world famous comic Russell Brand on his Indian tour. His favorite topics to talk about on stage are Jaat culture, people who buy Royal Enfields and poverty (mostly his own), a variety that makes the Indian audiences fall in love with him. And with his recent spelling change (Kapur to Kapoor), he has got all the validation he needs, and is ready to take over the world.

In 2006, Ashish Shakya discarded his freshly-minted engineering degree and became a full-time comedy writer – a favour for which the science community is still grateful. Stand-up followed soon after because the instant approval of strangers was amazing and also pants are optional. As a member of AIB, India’s most well-known comedy collective, Ashish has been part of ambitious projects such as AIB Knockout - India’s first ever comedy roast featuring Bollywood A-listers like Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. He’s also co-helmed two seasons of On Air With AIB, an acclaimed news comedy show telecast on primetime TV and Hotstar. His weekly humour column in The Hindustan Times also earned a devoted following during its six-year-run. As a stand-up comic with hundreds of shows under his belt, he has brought the house down in venues across India, Singapore, Dubai, Australia and the UK, and is currently seeking his next big stage thrill.
