About the Event
Join me as I take you through the greenest part of Bangalore Central District at Cubbon Park!
You will get to explore the natural history & culture of Bangalore city while you walk around exploring the trees spread across the park. We will walk around the High Court, The Bandstand, the Central Library & other monuments of Cubbon Park.
All this, and we will only walk for about three kilometers. We will end the walk together with conversations! This walk is easy and fun for adults or kids.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Location: Cubbon Park, officially known as Sri Chamarajendra Park, is a landmark 'lung' area of Bengaluru city, located within the heart of the city in the Central Administrative Area. Created in 1870 under Major General Richard Sankey, then British Chief Engineer of Mysore State, it covered an area of 100 acres. Subsequent expansion has since taken place, and the park's area is now reported to be 300 acres. It has a rich recorded history of abundant flora and fauna plantations coupled with numerous impressive and aesthetically located buildings and statues of famous personages, in its precincts.
About the host: I'm Tharun Jagateri, a native of Bangalore, living next door to Cubbon Park. I have been spending hours in Cubbon for over 20 years exploring & studying the trees in the garden and their cultural & historical significance.
I love creating experiences that people enjoy in my professional life, and now I want to bring my expertise to the public by making their visit to the Cubbon Park more enjoyable and insightful while intensely appreciating the natural world :)
