EKFA is proud to present the Delhi State Open Kettlebell Competition.
Kettlebell sport is the oldest lifting sport in the world, originating as an ethnic sport of Russia. It combines strength and endurance by lifting a chosen weight for a fixed amount of time.
The Delhi State Competition qualifies the medalists for the national league. Events will be held in two categories - Amateur and Professional. The lifts will be 1 arm long cycle, 2 arm long cycle, Snatch only and Biathlon.
EKFA is the government recognized kettlebell federation of India, which operates the national league. EKFA Games and Sports is powered by Bodypower and IN2 Nutrition. EKFA is affiliated with WKSF – World Kettlebell Sports Federation and WAKSC.
What are the events in the amateur category?
1 arm long cycle (push press allowed)
2 arm long cycle
Snatch only
Biathlon
What are the weights used in the amateur class? How will points be calculated?
Weights used for men: 12/16 kg. Weights used for women: 8/12 kg
The 1st place and 2nd place is decided on the co-efficient system as per given formula for each weight category.
Points = Kettlebell Co-efficient x reps / body weight.
For eg, 1) Athlete weighing 70 kgs, does snatch of 16 kg kettlebell for 150 reps, so his calculation will be 6 (co-efficient score) x150/ 70 = 12.85 points.
What is the duration of the event?
All events are played for 10 mins only. You get 30 min break between events if you are competing in multiple events.
What are the events in the Professional category?
2 arm long cycle (jerk only, no push press allowed)
Snatch only
Biathlon (jerk and snatch) – 30 mins rest in between events
One arm long cycle (women only)
How will medal winners be decided in the professional category?
There will be no weight category. The competition will be decided by the Professional weight calculation. The 1st place and 2nd place is decided on reps athletes does in an event, In-case of a tie, the person with lower body weight get an advantage.
What weights will be used in the professional category?
Weights used for men: 20 kg, 24 kg, 28 kg, 32 kg
Weights used for women: 12 kg, 16 kg, 20 kg
What are the prizes?
Prizes are sponsored by IN2 Nutrition and Bodypower India. A certificate and T-shirt will be given to each participant. Gold and silver medals will be given for winners for 1st and 2nd place in each category and event.
