About Mechanica'24, MEA IIT Madras: Mechanica IIT Madras is the annual technical festival of the Mechanical Engineering department at IIT Madras, India. It's the largest departmental tech fest in the country, and is held in March. The festival offers a blend of technical excellence, creative brilliance, and inspiration through events, workshops, and competitions. It includes design competitions, workshops, keynote speeches, and other activities.
Workshop Schedule:
Workshop Date: 11th - 12th January 2025 (Saturday-Sunday)
Workshop Time: 10 AM to 5 PM
Workshop Duration: 2 Days (14-16 Hours)
Workshop Venue: IIT MADRAS
The entire session will be covered in two parts
Theory Session – Basic & Advanced.
Practical Sessions – Basic & Advanced.
TECHO WORKSHOP SERIES TOPICS (Each Workshop has 70-130 Seats only)
Duration: 2 Days (14-16 HRS)
Eligibility: Students and Working professionals
1. Introduction to Multicopter
○ An overview of multicopters, including their history, types, and
basic principles of flight. 2. Base of Multicopter
○ Detailed discussion on the frame structure, materials used, and design considerations for stability and durability.
3. Motors
○ Exploration of different types of motors used in multicopters,
their specifications, and selection criteria. 4. Electronic Speed Controller (ESC)
○ Explanation of ESC functionality, types, and their role in controlling motor speed and performance.
5. Overview of Sensor
○ Insight into various sensors used in multicopters, including
gyroscopes, accelerometers, and GPS, and their importance in
flight stability and navigation. 6. Introduction to Flight Controller Board
○ Detailed introduction to flight controller boards, their features, and how they integrate various components for stable flight.
7. Introduction to Battery
○ Overview of battery types, specifications, charging methods,
and safety considerations for multicopters.
8. Radio Devices
○ Explanation of radio transmitters and receivers,
communication protocols, and range considerations. 9. Applications
○ Discuss various applications of multicopters, including photography, agriculture, surveillance, and delivery services.
10. Surveillance and Mapping
○ Techniques and technologies used in aerial surveillance and
mapping, including software tools and practical applications. 11. Additive Manufacturing in Quadcopter
○ Exploration of how 3D printing and other additive manufacturing techniques are used in designing and building quadcopter components.
12. Assembling the Kit
○ Step-by-step guide on assembling a multicopter kit, including
tips and best practices for a successful build. 13. Installation of Software and Debugging
○ Instructions on installing necessary software for flight control, troubleshooting common issues, and debugging techniques.
14. Live Flying Session with Experts
○ Information on participating in a live flying session, including
expert tips, hands-on practice, and safety measures.
Note: The kit will be given for Practice purposes only and is not a takeaway kit. (Interested Candidate can purchase the Kit from Techobytes)
CERTIFICATION:
Hardcopy of Certificate will be given to each participation after the workshop.
Eligibility: OPEN TO ALL!! Any B.tech, B.E, M.B.B.S, BCA, MCA, MS, MD, B.sc IT, M.sc IT, Biomedical, Bio-Technoogy, BBA, MBA, B.A, hobbist and from any other stream can join the workshop.
