Discover the art of nest-making in this hands-on workshop led by Rakesh Khatri, widely known as the Nest Man of India. Participants will learn to craft nest using natural materials like bamboo, while reflecting on the relationships between form, shelter, and environment.

Drawing inspiration from the interactive video installation Triggered by Motion, which brings unseen wildlife activity to life through motion-sensitive cameras placed across 21 biodiversity hotspots, this nest-making workshop invites participants to reflect on the  movement, and instinctual creativity found in the natural world.

Artist Bio

Rakesh Khatri, known as the “Nest Man of India”, is an environmentalist and documentary filmmaker dedicated to sparrow conservation and sustainable living. Since 2007, he has created over 7.3 lakh eco-friendly nests and conducted 7,000+ workshops, engaging more than 1.4 million participants. As Founder of Eco Roots Foundation, he leads initiatives in ecological education, waste management, and traditional water source revival. His contributions have earned national and international accolades, including the National Science Award and Green Apple Award. Featured in school curricula and on national television, Khatri promotes hands-on environmental stewardship and inspires communities to reconnect with nature.
