Fame The Band
Formed in Tura, the band is made up of Mikkimra Shira (guitars), Mark Shira (drums), Tengsam Momin (bass) and Fame Sangma (vocals). In its three year existence, this alternative/pop rock band kicked started their journey by contesting at the Battle Rock VI in Tura in 2013. Winning the third place for ‘The Best Original Song’ and ‘Best Vocalist’; at The Hornbill International Music Festival and Rock Contest, Kohima (2015), FTB bagged the award for ‘The Best Potential Band’.
Further in 2016, they have been placed 16th in the Sennheiser Top 50 Bands out of the 300+ bands that competed from all over the country. They also took part in Strawberry Fields, Bangalore held at The National Law College and won; went on to compete and win Livewire as a part of Mood Indigo, which is Asia’s Largest College Cultural Festival, held at IIT Bombay.
2017 saw the band settle in Mumbai to pursue music full time. They qualified for the West Zone Finale in the Sennheiser Top 50 Bands. They released their debut album ‘nouns’ in the month of October along with the launch of their website fametheband.com and consequently started touring with shows across ten venues in India and Nepal.
The band has released four original singles so far – Like The Stars, Over And Out, We Need and Just This Smile.
