Sandhan Valley, also known as the Valley of Shadows, is situated in the Western Ghats of the Sahyadris.It is called the Valley of Shadows as in some places, the width between the rocks is less than three ft, which obstructs the rays of the sun, hence, casting shadows. The valley is located on the west side of beautiful Bhandardara region, near the Samrad village, located 3000 ft above sea level. The area is surrounded by mountain ranges, namely Alang, Madan, Kulang, Kalsubai, Ratangad and Ajoba, but the valley is also known for nesting fireflies. It is a perfect place to explore and capture the fireflies with your camera at night, as you trek along the valley.
