WhiteWall Screenings, Ekta's Gatherings and Shoonya - Centre for Art & Somatic Practices together have created a short-film community over the past 8 months. We curate hand-picked films to watch – some very cool, thought-provoking films – and we are bringing in our December edition.

The theme this time is - Films on Women & Expression

Films to be screened:

1) Anubandh

(Hindi and English)

A story about a woman’s journey from an abusive relationship to discover how life offers opportunity to make things equal.

2) Main Aa Gayi

(Hindi, Tamil and Rajasthani)

"Main Aa Gayi" is a short experimental film that delves into what it truly means to feel like a Queen. Faced with life's challenges, a woman finds strength not in waiting to be rescued but in crafting her own crown from the very thorns meant to deter her. Drawing inspiration from Waiting for Godot, the film touches on the absurdity of waiting instead of celebrating resilience and self-reliance. Indian culture is woven through the story, with folk music underscoring the journey, adding a rich, authentic layer to the Queen's path.

3) Sunn Toh

(Silent film)

Two friends are on the cusp of achieving the greatest feat of their careers that would bring them fame and fortune. But time has chosen this very moment to test one’s conscience and one’s principles and put it against each other. Must the show go on?
