The Pomegranate Workshop is delighted to announce their collaboration with Readings in the Shed, a Mumbai based initiative that has conducted several dramatized reading performances in the city. Each chapter is themed around a country and storytellers and performers have engaged the audience with vivid reading performances of their chosen stories, poems and plays.

They’re constantly looking for good stories to read and tell, or to make good stories sound even better. You could be a parent at your child’s bedside, a school teacher faced with a sea of blank faces, a speaker at a conference or just a regular person looking to regale a mehfil with some entertaining gup-shup.

This November, they present, From Word to Voice: a 4-day intensive workshop on dramatized reading which culminates in a dramatized reading performance.

At From Word to Voice, you can explore your potential to hold your audience in thrall with your narration skills even if you have no background in theatre, acting or literature. Across the four day workshop, participants will explore different literary texts and begin to analyse them individually and as a group, they will learn how to break a text down for a performance, do multiple exercises that help in performing a text. Participants will receive tips, guidance and feedback from the facilitators as they create their dramatized reading performance together. This performance will be exhibited at a cultural venue in the city- to a real audience!

This workshop is ideal for individuals looking for an entry point into the storytelling and performing space – either professionally or as part of a skill set.
