Gond comes from the Dravidian expression, Kond which means ‘the green mountain’.It is a decorative art form, practiced by the Gondi people of Madhya Pradesh. The Gondi people have a belief that viewing a good image begets good luck, thus, they decorate their walls and the floor of their houses with traditional motifs. 

These paintings are a reflection of man’s close connection with his natural surroundings; they have faith that all things are inhabited by a spirit and, consequently, are sacred. They not only draw inspiration from nature but also take inspiration from myths and legends of India It also showcases abstract concepts like emotions, dreams, and imagination.

No Prior art background required, the artist will guide you through the interesting techniques and skills involved in making the art piece. 

• Final artwork - A4 size sheet (300gsm acid-free paper)
• 2 Practice sheets (Cartridge sheets)
• Paints 
• Brushes
• Pencil, Eraser
• A PowerPoint presentation will be shared  (it shall include all the details of Gond art)

Fees: Rs.1500/- (Inclusive of all materials and refreshments)

You get to take back the vibrant piece you make, all other material for use during the workshop.
