Harihar Night Trek Tour Overview

Harihar fort / Harshagad is a fort located in, Nashik, Maharashtra. It is an important fort in Nashik district, and was constructed to look upon the trade route through Gonda Ghat. It receives many visitors because of its peculiar rock-cut steps. Harihar fort was built during the Yadava period. It was surrendered by Shahaji Raje Bhosale to Khan Zamam in 1636 along with Trymbak and other Poona forts.The fort was captured by Captain. Briggs in 1818 along with other 17 forts.

There are two base villages of the fort, Harshewadi and Nirgudpada. The Harshewadi is 13 km from Trymbakeshwar. The climb from Harshewadi is more easier than from the Nirgudpada. A wide, safe trekking path starts from the hillock north of the Nirgudpada. It passes through scrub forest till it reaches an open ridge which is connected to the fort. It takes about an hour to reach the scarp of the hill on which the fort is situated.The ascend through the 60 mtr rock cut steps is wonderful. It is like a stone ladder placed at 60 degree along the scarp.The steps are worn out at many places yet the holes on either side of the steps are conveniently cut for holding onto.After reaching the main entrance, the paths takes a left traverse and again a helical rock cut steps are to be climbed, which are more steep than the earlier. the steps finally end with a narrow entrance.At many places the steps are very narrow that, only a single person can climb at a time.Accommodation is possible on the fort as well as in the local villages.

Note:

There is no freshen up / washroom / Toilet facility on the Mountain only available at the Base Village.

Avoid carrying heavy weight for the trek.

Floaters and Sandals are not allowed, please wear sports shoes or trekking shoes of good quality.

Harihar Night Trek Detail Itinerary

Day 1

Well, be boarding the Bus from the nearest local Pick up points. Bus timings are linked & shared in Pick-up Point Location for convenience:

08:00 PM: Meet Bhatakna Team Member at Borivali (E) National Park Bus Pick-Up Point.

08:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Journey start with private Bus Pickups from Malad, Goregaon, Andheri, Bandra, Sion, Ghatkopar, Thane, Kalyan, Kasara.

Day 2

03:00 am: Reach Base Village Wake Up & Get Refresh Yourself

03:30 am: Gear up, & pack your bags and get out! For adventure Trek It’s gonna be a long climb to the top. We will make a few halts on the way where you can grab your snack or a drink.

06:00 am: We reach the Harihar Fort Summit in time for the sunrise. You get a beautiful view from the summit.

07:30 am: Take a group picture & We start our descent. Finally, you get a view of the surroundings you climbed through in the night.

07:00 am: grab a quick breakfast on the mountain and start the descent.

11:00 am: We reach back down at the base village.

11.30 am: freshen up & grab a quick Lunch

02:00 pm: Time to head back to & say goodbey to Harihar Fort.

08:00 pm: Adios! Back to the mundane city life. Until next time, Bhatakna!

Personal Care Medicine those which u require usually.

A good trekking shoes provide more grip and comfort on the trek & Extra pair of Socks.

Rainwear / Poncho / Waterproof jacket etc. if you don’t want to get wet

One Day Backpack 20 to 30 litres

Please wear Full sleeves and Full Track Pant this will protect from Thorns / Insects / Prickles

Double pack your valuables/phones in plastic bags.

• There is no freshen up / washroom facility at the top. There is the only a

toilet at the base village.

• Avoid carrying heavy weight for the trek.

• Floaters and Sandals are not allowed, please wear proper trekking

shoes. (Shoes with poor condition will not be allowed).
