About the Event
Wandermile presents an experiential photography trip to Agra, Mathura and Vrindhavan to capture the colors of Holi this February. Experience the festival of colors in its most vibrant form at the very place where it all began back in the years! Holi is not just about colors. There are a lot of rituals and traditions associated with the festival and we will explore many of them in this trip as we walk the streets of Mathura and Vrindhavan with our local guides. We will also have a photography mentor to help you click the right picture!
Before Mathura, we will also stop by the inimitable Taj Mahal to get an experience of the Taj Mahotsav that happens between the 18th and 27th of February this year.

Reach Barsana by noon for the first day of Holi Celebration. The first day is celebrated as Lathmaar Holi where the Gopis (shepherds) from the village of Nandagaon which is the birthplace of Lord Krishna, visit the village of Barsana which is the birthplace of Radha. Legend has it that Lord Krishna visited his beloved Radha's village on this day and playfully teased her and her friends. Taking offence at this, the women of Barsana chased him away. Keeping in sync with the story, the men from Nandgaon visit the town of Barsana every year, only to be greeted by sticks (aka lathis) of the women there. The ladies hurl sticks at the men, who try to shield themselves as much as they can. The unlucky ones are captured by the enthusiastic women who then, make the men wear female clothing and dance in public. This event is amazing to experience and is a lot of fun to shoot! Head to the hotel and rest for the night.
