Indian Ocean & Aisi Taisi Democracy in The Same Show!

Combinations are nice things: Giving us awesome things like Indian Chinese, e-bikes and crossover movies.

Here's another excellent combination for you: Music and comedy. And not just by anybody! The music comes to you via Indian fusion icons, Indian Ocean, and musical-satirical-comedy pioneers Aisi Taisi Democracy. When you combine the two, you get something truly amazing. Laughs and melodies are very congenial bedfellows, and you're invited.

Insider spoke to both bands to understand more about the tour!

Insider: It's amazing to see Indian Ocean on the road again. What keeps you guys motivated and going, after all these years, having achieved so much?

IO: We are constantly on the road! We love touring and performing Live that is primarily what keeps us going that and we love playing together and coming up with stuff, there is always more to achieve and we aren’t tired yet.

Insider: ATD, you guys have build a cult following over the last couple of years. What in your minds has led to this success?

At the risk of sounding slightly immodest, Aisi Taisi Democracy is quite a unique show, not many people have been able to pull of music and comedy quite like us. Also political satire is not something you see everyone attempt so that sets us apart. Also the show and its east format of 3 friends talking (to each other and the audience) sharing stories has worked in our favour.

Insider: What can we expect on this particular tour?

IO: Well it’s the first time you will see Music and Comedy on the same stage. Rahul is going to be on stage for pretty much the entire show. This promises to be fun.

ATD: What you should expect from all our shows, our take on Our Country and the state of Democracy, reality presented with a pinch of salt.

Insider: We're greedy... So, is new material (album / videos) coming out any time soon?

IO: Yes! New material to be released late 2017. We haven’t made up our mind if its going to be singles or an album we are currently recording and writing new music.

ATD: Our show is best experienced live. And video comes with its own kettle of fish (censorship, arrest warrants etc) But we are working towards a special. Stay tuned.

Insider: How's it going to feel sharing the stage with each other?

IO: Most of us have seen the show and we really like Varun and Sanjay and the whole ATD show it is hilarious. This promises to be interesting and fresh!

ATD: We have all loved the music of Indian Ocean it will be great to share the stage with the rest of the IO parivaar.
